Canterbury Tennis Foundation
Kelly Tennis in partnership with Canterbury Tennis Club has recently launched the
Canterbury Tennis Foundation.(CTF)
The Canterbury Tennis Foundation was the brainchild of Linda Kelly, Director of Kelly Tennis and Head Coach at Canterbury Tennis Club.
The CTF wishes to foster locally talented young players through a strong club supported program with a view to grooming them for Australian National Points Tournaments and an Australian Junior Ranking. This ranking will then lead to an International Ranking where players can experience tougher competition in higher quality tournaments which will provide them in time with match toughness for the elite international stage.
The main purpose of CTF is to nuture, encourage and support talented and motivated young players in their quest for national/ international competition in their later years.
With the help of generous sponsorship from the Australian Fitness Institute(AIF),which is headed by Doug Wade, well known Geelong AFL Legend, these promising Canterbury players have been fitted out in smart playing uniforms, will have their entry to National points tournaments reimbursed, thanks to a grateful cash donation by AIF and will have their stringing requirements met by Reynolds Racquets, also a generous sponsor of CTF.
No player can go far without top quality strings in his/her racquet and frequent hard hitting inevitably leads to string breakages.
Phil Lyon,Director of Reynolds Racquets, has generously offered a free restring per term for each player selected in the Canterbury Tennis Foundation.
The Canterbury Tennis Foundation is extremely grateful to both our sponsors for their vision and support of our selected young players.
They are:-
Jessica White
Ben Lillie
Edward Johnstone
Jeremy Taylor
Nick Sayer
Max Curtis
Zach Teh
